The granddaughter of professional tailors in Tianjin, Veronica grew up helping her grandmother sew patterns and trace out designs for clothes ordered by the neighborhood women. She spent her own time drawing female figures over and over. That led to a lifelong love of illustration with ink and pencil on paper which evolved into dabs in painting, ceramics, and photography.

A move to the beautiful city of Chicago led to her graduate from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art with a focus in Photography. Upon the completion of her studies, she has worked as a freelance / street photographer and continued her passion for drawing. Currently, she is affiliated with 2 nonprofit organizations - CircEsteem in Uptown and Canine Therapy Corps on Fullerton Ave - documenting student showcases and their annual fundraising galas at Architectural Artifacts and the Revel Fulton Market, respectively.

If you would like to reach out for an event or portrait session or commission an illustration - Veronica loves a good collaboration. Drop her a line at ronniexveronica@gmail.com.
